Navigable Waters Brochure & Ordinance

The waters around Beaufort are an incredible asset. We want everyone to enjoy their beauty and the recreational opportunity they provide, and also to help us preserve this natural resource for future generations. Please refer to the brochure below for regulations on anchoring, mooring and docking. The Town of Beaufort Police Department provides enforcement. 

• Permission is granted to anchor vessels for up to 10 days in a 30 day period.
• Derelict & Abandoned Vessels are Prohibited
• Violation of the Town of Beaufort Navigable Waters Ordinance is a class 3 misdemeanor and carries a fine of $100 per offense plus judgments from the court.
