Message from the Director

It is our goal at the Town of Beaufort Public Utilities Department to provide our customers with an outstanding level of service and to ensure that Beaufort residents have a continuous supply of high quality water and sanitary sewer service.
The Utilities Department provides services to over 4,000 residents. We service over 3,400 water and sewer connections. We maintain 20 sewer pump stations. The collections system consists of more than 20 miles of 6-inch to 12-inch gravity mains, approximately 4.3 miles of 4-inch to 12-inch force mains, and associated laterals located within the entire corporate limits of Beaufort.
Recent improvements within the Utility Department’s infrastructure include the rehabilitation of part of the sewer collection system and the construction of a new wastewater treatment facility, which replaced the original wastewater treatment plant. In addition to the improvements to the sewer and wastewater processes, the Utilities Department was able to secure future potable water needs by constructing two new wells and raw water mains.
Our knowledgeable staff is here to help you. Please let us know if we can be of assistance.
