Board of Adjustment
The Board of Adjustment meets the fourth Monday of every month at 6 pm in the Train Depot, 614 Broad Street.
The Board of Adjustment is composed of five regular members and two alternates. Three of the regular members and one alternate are appointed by the Town of Beaufort Board of Commissioners and reside within the Town's corporate limits. Two regular members and one alternate are appointed by the Carteret County Board of Commissioners and reside within the extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ) of Beaufort.
The Board of Adjustment (BOA) is a quasi-judicial board governed by North Carolina State Statues as well as other Town ordinances. Their powers, duties, procedures and more are found in Section 21 of the Land Development Ordinance (updated 5.14.18).
