Town of Beaufort Golf Cart Regulations
• All golf carts must first pass a safety inspection and be registered with the Town of Beaufort to be lawfully operated within the city limits.
• Safety inspections and registration are both required annually and are only valid per the calendar year in which they are registered (Jan.1st - Dec.31st).
• Golf cart owners will be charged a $100 registration fee at the time of registration or the renewal of a registration.
• Golf cart owners must provide proof of insurance at time of registration and a valid driver's license.
• All golf cart operators must be at least 16 years of age and possess a valid driver's license.
• Golf Cart Registration and Permit Requirements can be found in Sec. 73.04 of the Town of Beaufort Code of Ordinance.
• Golf cart operators are required to follow the standards of operations outlined in Sec. 73.05 of the Town of Beaufort Code of Ordinance.
• Golf carts must adhere to all parking regulations.
• The golf cart safety inspection and registration are to be completed at the Beaufort Town Hall located at 701 Front Street, or at the Beaufort Police Department at 215 Pollock Street.
• Golf cart inspections are conducted Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.- 4 p.m.
