Duke Energy will conduct transmission infrastructure work along Highway 101 between W. Beaufort Road and Brentwood Drive from July 13–15. The work will require temporary lane closures and intermittent road closures. All work is weather dependent, and scheduling may shift as conditions warrant.
Following the transmission work, crews will continue with approximately three weeks of overhead and underground distribution projects within the same corridor.
This work is part of Duke Energy’s ongoing efforts to maintain and modernize the electric system serving Beaufort, supporting reliability today and the long-term resilience of Beaufort and surrounding coastal communities. Duke Energy has worked closely with Town of Beaufort to coordinate construction activities and help minimize impacts where possible while completing these infrastructure improvements.
