A typical day for Juan is always changing and full of variety. Juan’s day may include welding repairs, carpentry work, picking up trash and debris, maintaining public areas, and completing small improvement projects throughout town. Whether he is repairing infrastructure, helping prepare for community events, or keeping public spaces clean and safe, no two days are exactly alike.
What Juan enjoys most about his job is welding and the opportunity to meet new people throughout the community. He takes pride in being able to use his skills to improve the town and help maintain the appearance and functionality of Beaufort’s public spaces.
Juan’s work directly serves the community by helping ensure public areas, waterfront facilities, and town property remain safe, clean, and welcoming for residents and visitors alike. From everyday maintenance to special projects, his work helps preserve the charm and beauty that make Beaufort unique.
He is especially proud of the work he completed on the stage for Rock and Dock, as well as repairs made to the waterfront docks. Seeing community members and visitors enjoy those spaces gives him a strong sense of accomplishment and pride in his work.
Juan’s favorite thing about Beaufort is being right on the water and the beautiful views that come with living and working in a coastal community.
Something many people may not know about Juan is that he hopes to one day become a firefighter. He is fascinated by the work firefighters do and greatly respects the dedication and service they provide to the community.
