The Town of Beaufort seeks a qualified vendor to provide multi-band portable handheld radios and required components for the Beaufort Police Department to enable interoperability of public safety agencies, and effective communication between law enforcement personnel, ensuring officer safety and appropriate incident response.   



Background Information 

The Beaufort Police Department is the primary law enforcement agency serving over 4,382 people within 6.849 square miles of jurisdiction within the Town of Beaufort, North Carolina. The Police Department is allocated 20 sworn officer positions and is supported by 2 civilian employees.  

The Town of Beaufort will receive sealed bids for the replacement of 22 portable handheld radios for the Beaufort Police Department, 215 Pollock Street in Beaufort, NC. No specific model and manufacturer are being requested, but a list of specifications is included as part of this invitation.  

Proposals will be received at the Police Department, 215 Pollock Street, Beaufort, NC until 12:00 p.m. on October 21, 2022. Proposals shall be directed to:

Any addenda will be posted to the Town’s website. All firms are responsible for checking for new addenda. Proposals will be opened and read aloud at 2:00 p.m. on October 24, 2022 at the Beaufort Police Department, 215 Pollock Street Beaufort, NC  28516. 

The Town of Beaufort reserves the rights to amend or terminate this Request or Proposal, to reject any or all proposers, to request additional information, to waive any informalities or non-material deficiencies in a response, to determine qualifications exclusively and finally in its sole discretion, to select any proposal based on any combination of factors, including the amount bid and the Town's best interests, to select parts of any one or more proposals, to negotiate with any person submitting a proposal for different or additional terms, and to take any and all other action that, in the Town’s sole judgment, will be in its best interests.
