The Town of Beaufort seeks bids from qualified manufacturers to manufacture a police boat to the minimum specifications listed below.
22’ to 24’ flat bottom white hull
100% composite construction (no wood) with stringers
Finished Fiberglass Inner Liner (2 part construction: Hull and Liner/Floor)
Forward seating with seating surface below gunnel (preference given to the design which best suits prisoner transport)
Center console with storage, windshield, compass, front facing seat with cushions, 12-volt (minimum 1) and USB (minimum 2) outlets
Battery turn-off switch
Below deck fuel tank, minimum 35 gallons
Sea Star hydraulic steering with stainless steering wheel
Navigation lights
Aluminum leaning post with back rest and cushions
Rear seating with backrest and cushions at stern
Stainless steel pull-up cleats
T-top with fiberglass roof
Jack plate
Automatic bilge pump
Fiberglass swim platform with folding stainless steel ladder and grab rail
Aluminum trailer
Sunbrella console cover
Yamaha 150 HP outboard motor with stainless steel propeller
Electronic instruments to be supplied by buyer and installed by seller at a not to exceed cost. Manufacturer to consult equipment vendor during fabrication for installation of wiring and components.
TIMELINE: Preferred delivery date is prior to Feb. 28, 2019. Boat should be delivered to Town of Beaufort Police Department, 215 Pollock Street, Beaufort, NC unless other arrangements are agreed upon.
PROPOSAL DUE DATE: Bids clearly marked “Police Boat” on the envelope shall be received no later than 2:00 p.m. EST on December 20, 2018 by the Town of Beaufort, Police Chief, Paul Burdette, 215 Pollock Street, Beaufort, NC 28516. Proposals may also be emailed to p.burdette [at] beaufortnc.org (p[dot]burdette[at]beaufortnc[dot]org). Late proposals will not be accepted. Bids will be reviewed for selection by the Town Manager and Police Chief.
The award of a contract under this solicitation will be paid with federal funding. Funding is contingent upon compliance with all terms and conditions of funding award. All prospective contractors shall comply with all applicable federal laws, regulations, executive orders, FEMA requirements and the terms and conditions of the funding award. In addition, contractors providing submittals shall be responsible for complying with state law and local ordinances.
The Town encourages participation by small, minority, disabled, and woman-owned businesses. The Town of Beaufort reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids.
