BEAUFORT, NC -  The Beaufort Police Department has arrested two individuals in connection with the death of 25-year-old Riley Goolishian of Beaufort. Both suspects face multiple felony charges, including Second-Degree Murder, Death by Distribution, and Sell and Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substances.
Ladavion Vontrell Manning, 26, of Morrisville, NC, was apprehended on Friday, May 2, 2025, at his residence by agents from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, Wake County Sheriff's Office, Morrisville Police Department, and the Beaufort Police Department. Manning's charges also include the sale and delivery of fentanyl. He is currently being held in the Carteret County Detention Center under a $750,000 bond.
Kevin Crishawn Milliken, 24, of Apex, NC, was taken into custody on Wednesday, June 3, 2025, in Chatham County. In addition to the charges related to Goolishian's death, Milliken faces separate charges in Chatham County for Felony Possession of Cocaine, Maintaining a Vehicle/Dwelling for the Purpose of Selling or Storing a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Simple Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Substance. His bond has been set at $1,000,000. Milliken remains in custody in Chatham County and will be transported to Carteret County by the Carteret County Sheriff’s Office for trial proceedings.
The investigation stems from the tragic death of Riley Goolishian, who was found unresponsive in her Beaufort residence on May 26, 2024, and later passed away on the morning of May 27, 2024, at Carteret Health Care in Morehead City. Autopsy and toxicology results confirmed her cause of death as a result of fentanyl and cocaine toxicity.
A joint investigation conducted by the Beaufort Police Department, the Carteret County Sheriff's Office, and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation revealed that Manning and Milliken sold both fentanyl and cocaine to Goolishian on May 25, 2024.
"This case represents a coordinated effort by multiple law enforcement agencies to bring justice in the face of a heartbreaking loss. We remain committed to pursuing those who distribute dangerous and illegal substances in our communities," said Beaufort Police Chief Paul Burdette.
