Carteret County COVID-19
COVID-19 Vaccine Update
Press Release #94
Carteret County, NC – On Thursday January 7, 2021, the Carteret County Health Department will begin scheduling appointments for those persons in Phase 1b, Group 1 who are 75 years and older and wish to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Vaccination clinics for persons 75 and older will begin on Monday, January 11, 2021. Vaccinations will be administered by appointment only at the Carteret County Health Department. No walk-ins will be accepted at this time.
The Health Department also continues to vaccinate those in Phase 1a which includes healthcare workers working with COVID patients, healthcare workers administering vaccines, and long-term care staff and residents. If you fall into Phase 1a or Phase 1b (Group 1 -75 years and older), please call 252-728-8550 (option 2) to make an appointment. Due to the volume of calls anticipated, you may need to leave a message and a staff member will call you back for an appointment time.
The Health Department is following guidance from the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) for distribution and vaccination order. We will not be vaccinating persons outside of Phase 1a and Phase 1b (Group 1- 75 years or older) at this time due to limited vaccines. It will likely take weeks to ensure individuals in these phases have received their vaccination. We ask for the public’s patience as we navigate this vaccination rollout. Rest assured you have a spot. To learn just where you fall in the vaccination plan, visit YourSpotYourShot.nc.gov.
As the State approves for other groups or Phases to be vaccinated, the Health Department will post information on the County website and Facebook pages, in addition to sending out press releases.
