Notification of Construction & Street Closures Cedar Street Utility Rehabilitation & Replacements Project
BEAUFORT-The Town of Beaufort will begin a four-month project of rehabilitating and replacing water and sewer infrastructure beneath Cedar Street.
The work involves road closures. These closures will generally be in segments limited to one block at a time. The first closure is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021 and will include the
portion of Cedar Street between Moore and Orange Streets.
As the work progresses, road closures will occur in the work area along Cedar Street between Moore to Live Oak Streets. Once work is complete and the block reopened between Moore and
Orange Streets, the block between Orange and Turner Streets will be next. Closures will likely continue westward along the street in a consecutive, block-by-block sequence.
The rehabilitation and replacement work of underground infrastructure is being undertaken in advance of North Carolina Department of Transportation’s planned resurfacing of Cedar Street.
Please use caution while traveling in this area as road closures will be necessary and the closure areas will change while the work is completed.
A schematic representation of the closure scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2020 to include the planned detour route is provided with this advisory.
Please continue to check this page for updated information as it becomes available.
We thank everyone for their patience as the Town works to make necessary improvements.
