Death Investigation
BEAUFORT, NC - At approximately 4:20 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2022, officers of the Beaufort Police Department along with Beaufort Fire and EMS personnel responded to the Town Creek area of Beaufort near the public boat ramp. Upon their arrival, emergency personnel discovered Paul Anthony Pinto, 62, of Beaufort whose body was recovered floating in Town Creek. On Nov. 3, 2022 an autopsy was performed by Onslow Pathology and it was determined that Mr. Pinto died of accidental drowning, and alcohol use is a contributing factor in the death. No signs of foul play have been discovered in this case.
