Description: The Work to be performed under the Contract includes installing ~60 LF of 2” PVC sewer force service line via boring under HWY-70 by means of directional drilling or dry bore and jack. Connecting force service line to 8” and 12” sewer force mains. Installing ~10 LF of 6” PVC water service line, connection to 8” water main, valve and meter box. Providing traffic control and shoring.  

All bids are to be returned to Sam Bell by 4 p.m. on June 7, 2022 at the Beaufort Town Hall located at 701 Front Street, Beaufort, NC 28516 or by email to s.bell [at] beaufortnc.org (s[dot]bell[at]beaufortnc[dot]org)

The CONTRACT DOCUMENTS may be examined and/or obtained at Town Hall located at 701 Front Street, Beaufort, NC 28516.  Persons requesting shipment of documents shall bear the additional, non-refundable cost of shipment. 

The Town of Beaufort reserves the right to waive any informalities, to reject any or all bids, and to accept that Bid or Bids which appear to be in the Owner's best interest. 

LICENSURE:  BIDDERS must be properly licensed under Chapter 87 of the North Carolina General Statutes and under Municipal Code 11-9. 

E-VERIFY COMPLIANCE PROVISION:  North Carolina General Statute §143-133.3 prohibits the Town from entering into contracts with contractors and subcontractors who have not complied with the requirement of Article 2 of Chapter 64 of the North Carolina General Statutes.  Contactor shall comply with the requirements of Article 2 of Chapter 64 of the North Carolina General Statutes.  Further, if contractor utilizes a subcontractor, contractor shall require the subcontractor to comply with the requirements of Article 2 of Chapter 64 of the North Carolina General Statutes.

WITHDRAWAL OF BID:  No Bid may be withdrawn within sixty (60) days after the date of Bid Opening. 

NOTICE TO PROCEED:  The Owner anticipates issuing a Notice to Proceed on or about June 21, 2022. Please note that the start date is flexible, however, and can be pushed back till late summer/fall if needed.  

BID PROTEST PROCEDURES:  All protests must be in the form of writing and must be delivered to the Town Clerk’s Office prior to the issuance of a purchase order.  The procedure is as follows:
