History:
Mayor Sharon Harker created the Beaufort Waterfront Operations & Finance Committee on Aug. 15, 2024, and appointed Commissioner Sarah Spiegler to serve as Chair and Commissioner Paula Gillikin to serve as Vice-Chair.
The Committee was created to review and update the recommendations of the Harbor and Waterways Advisory Committee, and to determine an action plan for the town’s waterfront. A deadline of December was established at the committee's inception to finalize recommendations and to report back to the Board of Commissioners.
Pursuant to NCGS 143-318.12 (b) (2), the newly created Beaufort Waterfront Operations & Finance Committee will hold a Special Meeting on September 5, 2024, for the purpose of establishing a regular schedule of meetings, discussing objectives and responsibilities of the committee and addressing any other business that may come before the committee. The meeting is 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Beaufort Train Depot, 614 Broad Street. This is an open meeting and the public is welcome to attend.
