LANE CLOSURE NOTIFICATION:
Live Oak Road is one-lane in areas as Town contractor prepares to install sidewalks
The Town of Beaufort has begun work on a portion of its town wide street and sidewalk project, a multi-year project that began in 2019. The previous work involved street resurfacing. This phase of the project involves upgrading several existing sidewalks as well as putting in new sidewalks to increase walkability throughout town.
The Town’s contractor will be working this week (Feb. 28-March 3, 2023) along the west (Southwest bound) side of Live Oak Street between Hwy 101 and Cedar Street. We anticipate lane closures during work hours between 8 a.m.-5 p.m. daily starting Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023. This work will continue over the next couple of weeks as the project progresses.
Following this segment, the Town and its contractor will shift work to complete a section of sidewalk from Campen Road extending southward to Burger King. This work should only require a lane closure for several hours during tree removal.
